As the devastation of the planet, the destruction of entire peoples, and the extinction of species continue, the first step in preparing for the future is to pause and allow ourselves to listen. Based on the hymns of Hildegard von Bingen, Anagoors' new production attempts to sharpen our perception with honesty, care, and responsibility. Carried and permeated by song, we can learn to feel ourselves as part of the family of all things by paying close attention to the whole, including the pain. The production follows this utopian idea, creating an immersive listening space. What can be heard there? A message that was conveyed in preparation for what is to come and reaches us today across time. A language whose words joyfully proclaim that a deeper principle of life flows through all things, that mind and body are one, that feeling is already thinking, that a plant-like force grows inexorably and indestructibly, and that therefore there will be no end. The universe is destined to be an eternal creation in which grace dwells, from the darkest abyss to beyond the stars. On July 12, we cordially invite you to a post-performance discussion after the show.
Please note: There are not enough chairs for all audience members at these performances. However, you are welcome to make yourself comfortable on the floor in front of the rows of chairs, right next to the stage, using the blankets and cushions that will be handed out at the entrance! We kindly ask you to be considerate when choosing your seats, to communicate with each other and, if necessary, to offer your chair to other guests who may need it.
